A model week at an electrical service company
Eight electricians, three of them certified inspection technicians. Jobs range from small repairs in homes to replacing a switchboard at a production site.
Monday: who may do which job
Each electrician has skills assigned the way the company named them: electrical up to 1000 V, high voltage, inspections, work at height. When searching for free capacity you tick the required skills and the result contains only people who have all of them.
Tuesday: switchboard replacement only during a shutdown
The switchboard in production can only be replaced during a shutdown the operator announced for two specific weeks. The dispatcher creates an appointment offer limited to that period. The customer picks one, and the days not chosen are released again once the offer closes.
Wednesday: inspection in the common areas of a building
The inspection needs an inspection technician and a helper. Both are assigned to one appointment and the board shows they are busy that day. Nobody schedules anything else for them in the meantime.
Thursday: handover with a report
After the installation is finished, the office generates a handover report PDF from the order: parties with company and VAT numbers, reported tasks, the completed checklist and signature lines. The finalised PDF no longer changes, even if the order is edited later.
Friday: a certificate expires
One technician's certificate expires. Until it is renewed, the administrator removes the inspection skill. The history of earlier orders stays, the filter just stops offering them for inspections.
